Serge Bohemier is a lifelong soccer player, teammate, friend, and a fighter. Serge is known in the community not only for his skills on the pitch, but also for his positivity, perseverance, and passion for life.
Now, Serge is facing the toughest opponent of his life: Stage 4 melanoma skin cancer. This is the most dangerous type of skin cancer because it can spread rapidly to other parts of the body. Melanoma is a serious cancer that can be deadly if not caught and treated early.
Despite undergoing initial rounds of treatment, the cancer has not responded as hoped. Serge’s condition now requires advanced care that is not available in Winnipeg. He is exploring promising treatment options at the Mayo Clinic and another specialized cancer treatment in Israel and Spain — but these treatments come at an enormous financial cost.
